The HR of Jeff Davis Committee is an informal committee of the local industries that meet approximately every quarter to discuss current employment trends and issues. This is also an opportunity for them to share success stories in current hiring practices.
Coastal Pines Technical College and the local school system are also a partner in this committee, and have been available to assist in establishing improved workforce efforts through the apprenticeship program, and the dual enrollment program at Jeff Davis High School.

Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST)
In the State of Georgia, communities can decide on a local level if they would like to collect an additional 1% in sales tax, which brings the total sales tax to 7% from 6%. The additional sales tax can be used for special purposes that benefit the community.
Jeff Davis County currently does collect SPLOST dollars. This money is used for capital improvements, land acquisition, equipment, and infrastructure support. The JDA receives 8% of SPLOST.
